Who is responsible
This website, jessica.digital, is run by Dr Jessica Muirhead, who is responsible for the personal data described here. You can contact me about privacy through the contact form or at jessica -at- jessica.digital.
The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, I receive your name, email address, type of enquiry and message. They are sent to me by email and a copy is saved on the web server.
I use this information only to reply to you and to follow up on your enquiry, on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to people who contact me. I don't add you to any mailing list or share your details with anyone else. Messages are deleted within 12 months unless we are still in contact.
Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
If you accept analytics cookies, this site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and how people find them. It collects information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, the website that referred you, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser type. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
Google Analytics is only loaded if you accept. If you decline or make no choice, nothing is sent to Google and no analytics cookies are set. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Google processes this data on my behalf and may do so outside the UK, under the safeguards in its data processing terms. Analytics data is kept for 14 months. Advertising features and personalisation are switched off.

Settings stored in your browser
The site also stores two settings in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device and are not used to track you:
- your choice of light, dark or automatic appearance, if you change it with the theme button
- your analytics cookie choice, so the site doesn't ask you again on every page (it asks again after 12 months)
Changing your choice
You can change your analytics choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, Google Analytics is switched off and its cookies are deleted from your browser.
